Alice Channer, Alison Wilding & Louisa Buck in Conversation

Two recently opened exhibitions – A Living Collection and Rhythm, Dance and Everything – showcase large-scale, newly acquired sculptures that have been donated to Wakefield’s art collection. Alison Wilding’s monumental sculpture Stormy Weather (1987) – is constructed of sheets of smooth galvanised steel of differing heights and grey tones, interlocked around a pitted bronze base – it was gifted by the artist in 2025 and is on display in A Living Collection for the first time since its acquisition. In 2013 Alison Channer was commissioned by The Hepworth Wakefield to make a new body of work for her solo exhibition, Invertebrates, which included Homo Sapiens (Large) now on display in Rhythm, Dance and Everything. The prodigious work was gifted by Channer last year. In celebration of The Hepworth Wakefield’s 15th birthday year, both exhibiting artists will be in conversation with writer and
