Dunfermline Red Shoes Festival: Remembering Moira Shearer

Following the successful Red Shoes Festival in August 2026 organised by Peacock Cinema, this closing event, held in conjunction with Dunfermline Carnegie Library and Galleries, will be a day of remembering Moira Shearer. 11am to 1pm · Dance display by local children · How Moira Shearer inspired me to become an actress by Jane Howie · The Red Shoes a song written and performed by a student from Fife College · How Moira’s uncle James Shearer designed the Canmore Room, the 1920s Dunfermline Carnegie library extension, a short talk by Sharron McColl · An introduction to and chance to view the Moira Shearer Archive at the Dunfermline Carnegie Library and Galleries. An extensive archive of Moira Shearer memorabilia recently donated by Dai Williams of the Moira Shearer blog.
