Luxurious Time

Presented by Theatre North Written and performed by Martin Lewton, The Luxurious Time is a deeply moving, occasionally funny true story about love, memory and loss, as the man he loves succumbs to Alzheimer’s disease. Based on notes Martin made while caring for his partner at home, the play is both a tribute and a call for greater understanding of dementia. It asks difficult, universal questions about love, ageing, care and mortality — and whether love can survive when memory begins to fade.
