There's something truly special about the opera arriving in town. This autumn, Scottish Opera brings one of the most enchanting tales in the repertoire right here to Macrobert Arts Centre. Humperdinck's Hansel & Gretel is a story that speaks to all of us: two children, lost and hungry in a darkening forest, summoning every scrap of courage and wit to outsmart a very wicked witch indeed. It's funny, a little spine-tingling, and ultimately deeply warm-hearted. This beautifully crafted five-singer production, accompanied by an intimate piano arrangement, strips the opera back to its storytelling
