Badgers
Badgers is a hybrid theatre piece lending spoken word, live music, recorded interviews and folklore to explore memory, the ethics of storytelling and our human desire to hold onto things that must pass. In 2015, musician Ben disappears after recording a folk song he discovers in a small market town. Ten years later, podcaster Meles comes to the town to care for her mother Dora, a celebrated journalist in the early stages of dementia. Desperately searching for a new story, Meles investigates Ben’s disappearance and the keeper of the folk song, the mysterious Bridget Brock. But things begin to spin out of control when Meles’ narrative twists truth into myth and human into badger.
