Autumn Lectures: Photographic History of Worthing Part One: 1860-1914
The first of two talks looking at the photography of Worthing. This lecture will feature dozens of photographs from Worthing and the wider area, showing the history of the town through both local and international developments and their capture on camera by Worthing’s pioneer photographers. A full programme of eight talks delivered by our curator James Sainsbury, including four brand new lectures. These talks cover everything from the Prehistoric archaeology of Worthing and the wider area, to the dawn of photography and the development of the town in the 19th and 20th centuries.
