Willow Lantern Sculpture Workshop

Learn how to create a willow and tissue paper sculpture lantern in a small group in our Museum Learning Space. Be inspired by the Museum collections - maybe a saxon brooch, a sword, or a historic dress to base your designs on. Day 1: you will design your lantern shape and work with willow rods to construct the lantern. Day 2: you will cover the shape in tissue paper and decorate ready to illuminate and display. Your lantern will be displayed for a short period of time in the Museum Garden or inside the Museum before taking home. All materials are provided, bring a packed lunch.
